It's rubbish, yes. We know from the people who write these columns that it's all made up.
However... it is *just* possible that there was an original nugget of truth in astrology, relating to the changing of the seasons - There is evidence from biological research that people born at different times of the year may tend to have slightly different characteristics, as a result of various factors experienced by the foetus during pregnancy. For example, a person born in December, after a spring and summer of its mother being relatively well fed, may have experienced a different pregnancy to someone born in May at the end of a long hard winter. So, it's not inconceivable that people in the distant past noticed subtle differences between people born at different times of the year (different 'signs') and codified them in astrology.

i don't believe my life is controlled by the stars, but i certainly believe in astrology influencing your personality. it's a very complex structure that has very little to do with your sun sign, but more to do with your moon sign and which planets were where when you were born. if you sit down with a legit astrologer you will be amazed how many details of your life they can tell you about. not general things like the ones you read in the paper, but things unique to you. here's a link to an acquaintance of mine. the site looks a little hokey, but he says most people want him to look a certain way lol. he's been doing this for over 20 yrs http://www.thetempleofsound.com/home.html

It's for amusement only, as the printed message says, so not to take it serious. The character and talents descibed can almost apply to anyone, at one time or another. There is something to star and heavens study, otherwise it would not have been mentioned in the bible, there is also warnings about diverting your time and interest into it. I know people that have seen into the future, and they are not a happy lot.

No, I do not believe my life is controlled by the stars. Neither do I believe my life is controlled by any forces outside myself. Even outside influences cannot CONTROL me; they merely influence me.
The stars do not control, and perhaps do not even influence. But they provide a clock face against which you can find yourself in space/time. And that positioning says much about what influences were operating on you at that time. The moment of your birth is the emergence of your individuality. It is celebrated every year and obviously has an influence on who you become.
What you do with those influences is up to you.

I wouldn't use the word controlled.
But I do believe that a certain number of events in my life are influenced by the planets.
I have never followed horoscopes from random magazines but I do swear by Jonathan Cainer who is brilliantly accurate.

Life is controlled by the deeds one do. Present life in the body is a outcome of deeds of this and previous births.
Time and place of birth governing life r decided by previous deeds.
Stars r only playing their part within the laws of nature.

Most would say no. Why so many star readers then ? People look at it as a game and in doing so open themselves up to evil.
