We have quakers and a conure. They love to eat pasta!! I feed them a little of whatever we eat every night. Eating is a very social activity for birds, they will try to get to us whenever we are eating for a "bite". We also buy them pasta for birds which you should be able to find at larger pet stores. It is made by Kaytee, and called kitchen creations. You just add water and microwave. Then I let it sit on the counter until room temp. before I give it to them. They won't usually eat too much. If you have a macaw or large bird 3/4 cup. Cockatiels and conures 1/4 cup. Anything smaller I would cut the serving for conures in half. Good luck!!!

My African Grey loves pasta. Only give a cooked macaroni or two and wheat is preferable. Just be aware that pasta contains a lot of water so the stools will be a watery consistency not long after the pasta is eaten.

Pasta is okay to feed your bird, as is fresh fruits and veggies. I like to buy best choice frozen mixed veggies and defrost only enough for them to eat each. They love cherries, grapes, tomatoes, pizza, (very small amount though,) Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, most casserole dishes, mac n cheese Mellon's and water melon. They also love saltless in the shell peanuts and almonds. I crack the almonds though, they throw them away other wise.

The cannot have chocolate, caffiene, carbonated drinks or avocados. Watch out for over heating teflon pots and pans, self cleaning ovens and some plants, and branches as they are toxic for them.

Also, birds can't swim, watch out for toilet bowls and boiling water. Ceiling fans are also dangerous as is glass windows for flighted birds.

What kind do you have?

Good luck!

Its good! The good thing is, it's full of energy enhancing carbohydrates! Try boiling some bowtie pasta with vegetables and serving it to your bird when cool. Birds eat little and often...

With my bird, I give her about 2 to 3 noodles of what I have. She really likes the noodles with garlic!
