I know of many people who can not go anywhere in life since they are here illegally even though they grew up in the United States. Most of these speak English just as well if not better than they speak Spanish or other language. So why punish them their entire life for what their parents did?

Why should the American public be punished and forced to support and educate them because their parents did the wrong thing?

Amnesty is not the solution, unfortunately.

Even someone brought as a child (under the age of 6) can, after a few years, go through the channels to acquire residency, if not citizenship. The law indicates that once an individual has been on US soil for more than 5 years, they can make an application.

Doesn't mean it would be easy (since they entered illegally in the first place, regardless of whether it was their parents' fault or not) ... but it can be done.

If they haven't made the move to start the paperwork, they have no interest in becoming residents or citizens. Without that interest, there is no reason to offer amnesty.

They are choosing not to go anywhere in life ... it isn't being held from them.

There is a law about making a gain, read that rewarding, an illegal act. Just as OJ can no make any money from his book, the illegals should all go home, be deported, get out of this country. You want to be here, good. Do it the right and legal way.

The proposed amnesty bill would have done just that and send only the head of household back to their respective country for 2 years before they can re-enter the US.

No amnesty. Sending illegals home is not punishment. If the children have any complaints, let them take it up with their parents.

No. If you are an illegal alien of any age you should be removed from the United States of America.

It is a bad thing to deal with, I think that in all fairness that they should leave. They are inocent up to the point that they refuse to leave. I am sure that they have a good education now and can make some positive changes in the country that they came from.
