He can only hide for so long before he's caught anyway, so he might as well turn himself in and take care of the warrant and have him tell Officers what happened, if he's innocent he'll be fine, if not, he'll be screwed. After reading your story, I'm betting on the latter

The more time that goes by the more likely he is to get in trouble and the more suspicious the police are going to be off his involvement. The most important question is do you know if the police are at or have been to the house yet, did anybody call them. Even if he had absolutely nothing to do with the beating he could get in trouble and be charged for not reporting the incident. He basically left the injured person to die, true he could run for his safety but he should have called 9-1-1 immediately, his failure to do so could get him in trouble. The previous bench warrant should be the least of his concerns, as this is a much more serious incident, he needs to be report to the police immediately.

In this country we are innocent until proven guilty. Just because his truck was there and he has a warrant, that is by no means proof that he did it. If the police investigate, they will find out the truth. Just tell him to tell the truth and cooperate and he will be fine.

He needs to hire a good defense attorney as soon as possible to see about turning witness for the prosecution in return for immunity of prosecution.

To talk to police without having a good attorney there for his behalf would be foolish at this point. They want a collar, and his will do as he was present at the time of the beating and he may have left a person to die; in their eyes, he will do.

he should go there and take care of the bench warrant. They have no proof that he did the beating, so they can't lock him up. If he tells the cops what he saw or heard, he won't be in any danger.

You'd be better off going to the police first. Yahoo Answers is not the place to ask answers for this type of problem, especially where there is a possible fatality.

I am curious why he didn't take his truck, being the most obvious, fastest and safest way to leave??
