We're going to New York next week, my wife really wants to go to see a show but I'm not really fussed about that kind of thing. What would be a good show that she would enjoy and I won't make me want leave in a hurry...

Go see Avenue Q! Funniest show on Broadway, very irreverent, not pretentious at all.

Curtains is good! murder musical..! I agree stay away from things like the lion king hairspray..Chicago is pretty good Mama Mia is okay ONLY if you are some HUGE Abba fan, Ave Q is a puppetty thing that can be fun as well if you are into that mix of Muppetts meet Rent (a musical about Alphabet City and life aids etc) On the other hand off Broadway offers alot.. murdered by the mob at Arno dinner theater
My Mother';s Italian My fathers Jewish and I'm in Therapy! at West side grab a time out mag, read up and buy advanced tics! Give up that 2 hours for your wife..then plan something you love to do!

i don't like musicals either. but i did like Wicked. the story is the prequel to Wizard of Oz so it was interesting to see what happened before the movie.

Avenue Q was pretty good and funny. Not too bad for someone who isn't really into the musical thing.

if i were you, i'd check with the wife if she would enjoy a play. if so, check out some of those to see if there are any that you think you might enjoy. i think i would like those more than musicals. although i haven't been to any of those so i can't suggest any.

See Chicago. Lots of sexy women dancing in Lingerie. I guarantee you won't want to leave! And your wife will enjoy the dancing and singing. I generally don't like musicals at all, but I really enjoyed this one.

Avoid Hairspray like the Plague, you would hate it.

Stay away from the touristy musicals (Mama Mia, Hairspray, Lion King, Wicked, etc.) they are sickly sweet.

Go see a Drama, try Frost Nixon.
