i'm 15 years old and my 14 year old cousin died in his sleep about 8 months ago. About 3 months after his death, i began having some symthoms which indicated sudden arythmic death syndrome (which killed my cousin) I went to the ER and they did a lousy ECG on my and everything tourned out normal. I started having the same symthoms about a month later and the doctor told me that it was just a digestion problem and i had nothing to worry about (he was ignoring most of my symthoms) Now i'm begining to have the symthoms and i feel like nobody is listening to my problems (not even my parents) I fear that i may carry the same gene that my cousin once carried. What is the chance of me carring the same gene? Please help!

Sorry to hear about your cousin.

I'm not sure if you could carry the same gene, but take a look at this.

Many people hear about others having health problems and also get to know their sympthoms. After this, they begin having the same sympthoms. This mainly occurs when they are scared to get the same disease and it happens to women that had unprotected sex and fear they're pregnant too.
You should go see a psychologist (I'm not saying something's wrong with you, but this mught help you more than you think) and make sure your sympthoms are real. If they persist, check a better doctor. Go to a bigger city/clinic and get some serious analisys done.

Hereditary genes regarding illness and symptoms have never truly been listed as a fact for any illness. Such as . . .
if there is a history of heart conditions in your blood relatives, you might have a higher risk of having a heart problem - - not definite.

Call the Dr and/or nurse & explain that the Dr never addressed these symptoms _____, _____. Dr. may have to return the call after looking over your chart. Perhaps knew answer & just didn't verbally explain it to you. Or (what I did on a totally different medical problem) go to same clinic but see a different Dr. for a 2nd opinion.

If receive same answer, perhaps the impact of your cousin's symptoms & death, may have subconsciencely made you 'feel' the same symptoms (bluntly - - in your head). But, IF this is the case, you really, really do feel and experience the symptoms as if you actually got something.

Definitely - - have it double checked.

firstly, im sorry to hear about your cousin.
Have you told your parents all of these symptoms? If not, i suggests you sit with them and tell them.
Can you change doctors? Or is there another doctor in the surgery? If so, i would think you should or if not, be persistant and tell your doctor that it keeps reoccuring and tell him about your cousin?
I wish you all the best x

if this happened to your cousin then it's more likely it will happen to you, but don't worry. see your doctor again and tell him/her to listen! say that this runs in the family and the symptoms won't go away. good luck
