I have romantic feelings for my half sister?

Would this be considered incest? Or is it the same sort of relationship if you say dated your second or third cousin which is allowed in some places? We are both so in love and we are scared that our family will not want to accept our relationship! We would really like to have children someday!

To anyone else who's seriously thinking about this question...here's my response: If you consummate your relationship with with a sister (whole, half, three quarters--whatever!;-) it would be considered incest--and it is not legal. This helps prevent having any children that would come out of such a relationship. It would mess with their genetics.

In other words, when two people come from the same gene pool, they have the same genetic weaknesses. Those weaknesses get magnified in their children.

So, say there is a problem with sickle cell anemia in your family. If you were to have children with a half sister--your children would be many, MANY times more likely to have it.

The law that prohibits an incestuous relationship protects unborn children.

Dude, it is best that you guys forget about this relationships. It doesn't matter if the laws allow or doesn't allow to date cousins. The truth is, in the end people are gonna start talking about you guys and both side of the families may make things worse for you guys if they don't accept it. Besides it's just wrong. You know how they say that "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never harm me.", you and everyone else knows that words can really hurt. I advise that you take a careful approach and think really careful before making any moves.

Since there are already seven billion people in the planet, God will not permit the two of you to have an incestuous relationship. According to the law, relatives up to the second degree are not allowed to be married. And she is even your sister. Come on, wake up!

Half sister means you have the mother or father. Genetically, that's the same time bomb as full siblings. If you share DNA, you should not share body fluids. You can't help how you feel, but you can (and should) get some professional help dealing with those feelings.
