Because it allows our bodies to develop anti-bodies to certain illnesses. Kind of an immunity to re-developing the illness again. It's the next best thing to receiving a vaccine but, better!!

If the sickness is serious enough, it's a refresher course in what's importanrt in life.
Coming home to an empty house from the hospital sure beats coming home to an empty house from a cemetrey.

I didn't know it was good for us. I've been chronically ill and out of work for almost 7 years. I have yet to find any good in it. It certainly isn't building up my immune system, it is compromising it.

hey its not always good what if a infection u cant overcome like hiv or tb ,stil u ll say d same actually some of the infection which our immune system can cope up successfully leads to the formation for antibodies (IgM) type which provides us lifelong immmunity againt tht particular infection like d infection wid measels chickenpox

they say it is.. but my moms gone through 5 operations and her 6th ones coming up, unless she takes some serious rest. Its suppose to build up your immune system. Its like picking up something really heavy and its really hard but the next time you pick it up it becomes easier.

the sicker you get the harder your immune system works.
My daughter had meningitis when she was 2 .because her immune system had to fight so hard for that it now easily beats anything. She hasn't been ill since recovering (she is now 8).
