I live in an apartment and a few months ago someone new moved into the building at first I saw 1 or 2 roaches now I see like 4 or more a day. I keep my apartment clean but some how they get in. I have a cat and I was wondering what can I buy that will kill the roaches and/or keep them out of my apartment but will not harm my cat in any way? Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you all in advance.

Ben (above) is right. You'll need to pack up kitty and go elsewhere while you fumigate the apartment. However, if your neighbors have roaches, they will just come back again and again, but you can minimize their appearance in your place by fumigating, then follow up with the same treatment once a month, keep all food put away and your dishes clean. The main thing to remember here is not to 'feed' the bugs, although roaches can live on the minimal amount of paper bag glue from what I have heard. If you bleach your surfaces, again taking care that your cat doesn't come in contact with the bleach, that will also help. There is also a bug killer called a 'roach motel' where the bugs go into the device, but cannot come out. This would seem to be safe around your kitty cat :)

Since we been having a lot of rain, We started having trouble with the what I call Water roaches. I had a bunch on my front porch at night. I went and bought Hot Shot- MaxAtrax roach bait. I placed a few of them on the porch. After the second night. They are gone. I had to sweep the dead ones off the porch. It was gross. But I knew it was working. You just need to place them where the cats cant get to them.
Plus you need to check to make sure if the cats decide to eat one of the dead roaches, that it wont hurt them.

Boric acid is a great roach killer that will not harm you or the cat. Also call your apartment manager to see about having a exterminator come in. They should pay for it with no problem.

Boric acid. Also watch out if the cat starts eating the roaches. Cats love them. Then their stomachs get queasy and up it all comes, roaches legs, wings and all.

Tell your apartment manager...they will send pest control. That's what you pay rent for.
