Probably from Dante Alighieri's :The Divine Comedy. It comes in three parts: Hell: Purgatory and Paradise. His description of hell (where we find Satan ) is about fire, and brimstone. On the other hand, Gibrans's "The Prophet" has a few lines which I believe in. He wrote: " I sent my soul into the invisible, a letter of that after life to spell, and by and bu my soul returned to me and said: you yourself are Heaven or Hell".

The Bible says that, in Hell, there are "sulfurous lakes." Because sulfur is only in liquid form at temperatures of at least 444.6 degrees F, Hell must be extremely hot. But because, at that temperature flames are blue, Hell must be dark. Blue flame gives off no light. Interesting, huh?

That ain't Biblical. Hell is death, the grave.
But the wicked WILL be destroyed in the lake of fire. DESTROYED not be tormented forever.
The story of Lazarus is a parable, that means not to be taken literally.
