All other configurations suit except one. Vista asks 15GB of Harddisk space. Is that much required?
C- 2 GB free
D- 8 GB free
E- 6 GB free
F- 7 GB free
Can Vista run on my pc on any of the above drives? I got Vista as a Birthday present so no money is involved. Can I revert back to XP later if I want to?

vista not only use a lot of your HD space. but it also required a lot of your PC resources.
i think if you dont have a middle end or high end computer, you better don't use it. i've been compare win XP and Vista.
and i think everything works faster in xp. i use my middle end computer.
the computer specs:
proccessor : intel 2.8 ghz
RAM : 1 Gb
VGA : NVidia Gforce 6600 GT
HD: 250 gb (3 partitions)
and vista runs really slow on my computer...
if you got better in XP why you should change it?
cheers

Google for: Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor
Then, download, install and run it. It will test YOUR system for problems, if any hardware fails, don't even try to install Vista.
Then, back up all your personal data from your PC (copy to CD / DVD / external hard drive) and delete as much as you can to make more room on your hard drive. Then, de-frag all partitions.
Use cCleaner to remove all temp files and clean the registry.
Then, run Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor again. If and when your PC passes, install Vista.

It won't work on any of those drives. You need to shift around some files to get the required space. You can revert back to xp, but the process is a real pain in the a**.

Plug in more ram
Ram is pretty cheap now.
You can't get where you wish to go from where you are.
If you can get a connection (which is doubtful), it won't be strong.
Vista is pretty big, without dumping your current browser, you wont acheive a connection, and even if you dump xp your connection is likely to be weak, particularly if you run software firewalls.
Where Vista runs is not your issue.
Just plug in more ram.

Yes you can revert to XP. are those totals? and does one have XP installed? if so remove XP and you will free alot of space. If not, you *may* be able to put Vista on the 8GB, provided you cut down on some added features.

Unfortunately, you can't install Vista on your computer with that configuration. You can take the Vista readiness test, if you like: http://pcpitstop.com/vistaready/default.asp

I guarantee it will work, but you should free some space in one of your hard drives by deleting
unnecessary files you don't need.
Happy birthday :))
