I live in Tennessee and am interested in the Lap band procedure, but not sure if TennCare covers it. I am 16 so if that makes any difference. Please & thanks. =]

Check the Lap Band website. They have lots of information, including insurance coverage. However, I believe your age would disqualify you even if TennCare does pay.

Hardly any insurance plans cover this type of surgery because it's considered cosmetic or elective - depending on the plan, and more than likely NOT for anyone under 18.

You're only 16? Mix in a salad once in a while, walk a bit, and give it a couple years.
