Science deals only with the physical and natural realm, faith with the spiritual and supernatural. Science can neither prove nor disprove God's existence nor will it ever.

I apologize if I offended earlier when I said one disproves the other. You are right, science can't disprove religion. I am just the type of person that can't believe without proof. I don't understand how everyone can believe in an all knowing God that cares whether or not I eat meat on Fridays. It just is beyond me I guess. I have a much easier time believing in things that I can see and touch. Good luck.

Religion says that the story of Adam & Eve is the word of God. Science says that when members of the same family have children, the offspring are always born with genetic defects. if you want proof, marry your cousin and have children. Now that's a conflict. There is no such thing as proving that something does not exist. By not being able to prove its existence is proof that it doesn't exist. Ask any Judge in a Court of Law.

I agree, science can't prove/disprove a god's existence.
And I don't think faith and science conflict.
However, the bible and science do. Creation vs Evolution

Science and Religion CAN mix.

God created the earth etc.. and he left it to Evolve by it's self.

Why can't we have two beliefs that are plausible?

One has fact, the other faith. No one is right or wrong, only different points of view.

They conflict ONLY when people from both groups of thought, insist that THEIR views are correct and the others are wrong.

If we only said: I don't agree with you but I will RESPECT your ideas and views. We would all get along much better but alas that is not the case.

So in answer to your question, they conflict mainly on the creation of our existence.

Men of Faith and Men of Science experience conflict in furious and fruitless dialogue, neither bending an inch....The truth is, that Faith and Science are not in conflict....the gaps that prevent a solid connection between the two are bound in the ignorance of man.

No, science cannot disprove it, but neither can you prove it. At least the things scientists say can be backed up by hard physical proof, not by some ninny quoting from a book written by some people over 2000 years ago.

You christians really piss me off with your one sidedness to everything. Get some proof like we do and we'll talk.

I think this is why I'm agnostic.

Logic can critique the Bible though, and so far, the Bible is not looking so sensical.

I do believe that we'll get to a point where science and technology could prove the existence of a god or god like beings. Or, like in Stargate, maybe God is like the Asgard . . . maybe we just aren't advanced enough for God to show its existence . . .

OK. I admit it. I'm really just a sci-fi geek.

Science and the spiritual are two aspects of one whole. Knowledge is one. They are complementary rather than contradictory. Each can inform the other. Science can inform faith and keep it from sliding into superstition; faith can inform science and keep it in service to the good of humanity and from becoming mere materialistic determinism. Science and faith are the wings of the bird of knowledge/humanity. If one wing is weak, the bird of knowledge cannot fly or goes in circles. Both wings have to be equally developed for the bird of knowledge/humanity to soar.

Yea!! You're back. I think faith and science only conflict because people allow them to. I think every scientific discovery has been a gift from God. I say that because I feel God gave those scientists the ability and the drive to make those discoveries. Of course that's just me.

I think that science can prove the over powers of God through new discoveries that prove the world is not a haphazard existence
