It was the most beautiful question... and i am sure you have a deep knowledge of Tantra.
It is the Kundalini Shakti which takes us from one body to astral worlds and then to the next birth
As long as Kundalini shakti is not awakened and taken to Shiva in Sahasara Dhara chakra, She will continue taking us from birth to birth.
When Kundalini is awakened, She goes back to her source, after death of the body...hence no re-birth
And Kundalini Shakti is Adi-shakti, a combination of Mahakaali, MahaSaraswati and MahaLaxmi.
Jai Kundalini Maan

Whatever be the form of Devi, the Energy behind it is same.
As men have different tastes ,each his own., similarly the Bhakatas will have liking for one form or the other and there could be no particular reason for this liking.
so in essence all Roopams of Devi are Same,as Gold is same though the ornaments that are made may differ in shape and design.
Here the the question which Devi Form takes takes from one birth to another , seems incomplete. It is a natural in spiritual line to know that there is another birth after this life .So if one does worship a particular Devi Roopam or not he is bound to take another birth.Devi will not take him to another birth,His own Karma(actions ) of this life and previous lives will decide the next birth. So Devi has no role or part in this process.
We worship Devi to get LIBERATED from taking births again and again. That is the aim of Bhaktas and any DEVI ROOPAM when worshipped with devotion and concentration
will surely help the Bhakta to progress and in a few Births he may realise the Ultimate and become one.
