Does anyone have any good, fast, and easy ways to cook Shredded Crab?

I went to the store and as always, I buy something I've never eaten before. This time I bought some crab, actually the label on the package reads: "Shredded Crab (imitation crab)" A Blend of fish w/snow crab.

The crab pieces are shredded like shredded cheese. Since this is the first time I've ever bought something like this, does anybody out there have any good ways to cook this?

I actually just made dinner a few weeks ago using shredded crab. The easiest way you could use it is to make a crab stir fry. Just take a wok (or similar skillet with a large lip), add a splash of peanut oil, let it heat for just a moment, thrown the crab in to let some of the fats out (it'll flavor the veggies later), remove the crab, and add your favorite veggies! I used cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini, baby portobellos, carrots, green beans, and pea pods. Once the veggies are cooked to the texture you want (I like them a little crispy still), add the crab back in just to heat it all up, and there you have it. I served mine over white rice, then added some jarred teriyaki sauce that I heated over the stovetop. You could actually mix the sauce right in with everything, and then serve it on the rice, if you wanted to.

Any leftover crab makes a yummy crab salad with some curly (rotini) pasta, good olive oil (you could even use italian dressing, if you wanted), and some italian herbs and crushed red pepper flakes. I would add a little bit of smashed garlic to mine, just because that's how I do things!

If nothing else, you could always sprinkle it (like cheese) on a huge garden salad with your favorite veggies and salad toppers.

Good luck!

Wow....I love this stuff. It's so easy in the summer to use it for a no-cook meal! I make a pasta salad with elbow macaroni, Miracle Whip, a bit of Catalina dressing and tons of fresh veggies and add a package of the crab meat. Great, easy and light summer supper. I also make a seafood Alfredo with it. I use it in crab dip ....1 package crab meat, some mayo, some onion, ketchup and horseradish and some cheddar cheese. Whip together in a food processor and serve with crackers and a nice bottle of white wine. Make a nice lettuce salad and add crab to it, that's pretty simple and delicious. You can make crab salad with mayo, relish, onion, and celery, makes a great sandwich. Soften a block of cream cheese, top with crab meat and salsa, serve with crackers and margaritas! If you need more ideas, let me know!! Enjoy :)

Sounds more like a side dish than a main dish to me. I would use it to top pastas/noodles, or to stir-fry with some vegetables and then eat with rice.
