There are seven levels of consciousness within man.
1. Feeling
2. Awareness
3. Intellect
4. Judgment
5. Wisdom
6. Analytic Wisdom
7. Divine Luminous Wisdom
These seven allow man through Gods grace to perceive the (world of the seen) and the (world of the unseen).
This is the progression of mans spiritual growth.
The Soul of man lies within the human heart of man.
It is a brilliant ray of light that was placed there by God.
It starts in the heart of man and radiates out through the Arch,
( Better known as the crown of the head ).
This is mans power source.
It is undetectable by anything known to man.
Body, Mind, & Soul (Spirit) are intregal components of a being that has assumed the human form!
This is the information requested regarding mans
consciousness and mans Soul.
If I have said anything in error, I ask Gods Forgiveness.

In the Katha Upanisad we find a passage which reads:
na jayate mriyate va vipascin
nayam kutascin na vibhuva kascit
ajo nityah sasvato 'yam purano
na hanyate hanyamane sarire
(Katha 1.2.18)
The meaning and purport of this verse is the same as in the Bhagavad-gita, but here in this verse there is one special word, vipascit, which means learned or with knowledge.
The soul is full of knowledge, or full always with consciousness. Therefore, "consciousness is the symptom of the soul". Even if one does not find the soul within the heart, where he is situated, one can still understand the presence of the soul simply by the presence of consciousness. Sometimes we do not find the sun in the sky owing to clouds, or for some other reason, but the light of the sun is always there, and we are convinced that it is therefore daytime. As soon as there is a little light in the sky early in the morning, we can understand that the sun is in the sky. Similarly, since there is some consciousness in all bodies--whether man or animal--we can understand the presence of the soul. This consciousness of the soul is, however, different from the consciousness of the Supreme because the supreme consciousness is all-knowledge--past, present and future. The consciousness of the individual soul is prone to be forgetful. When he is forgetful of his real nature, he obtains education and enlightenment from the superior lessons of Krsna. But Krsna is not like the forgetful soul. If so, Krsna's teachings of Bhagavad-gita would be useless.

The Scientific Theory of the Soul

The soul is conscious. The body is a machine. We can understand this by a simple example. The motorcar is a machine and the driver is conscious. If the machine [the motorcar] is climbing a very steep hill it may not perform so well. But the drivers consciousness is unaffected.
If we made the mistake of identifying the car's performance as an indication of the driver's consciousness we may come to a different conclusion.
The soul has consciousness, the soul has memory, and the soul has the ability to reason. All these things are completely separate from the bodily machine. The soul can reason, remember and is conscious even without the body. [That's what "out of body" experiences are

The soul, as a concept, is void: there is no such thing. Consciousness is simply an attribute of the normal functioning of an intelligent system capable of sensing some of its own properties. Marvin Minsky proposed a famous gedankenexperiment, many years ago; you are sitting at your terminal, looking at these words. How can be sure that they come from a human being, rather than a smart computer? And if I am in fact a computer, but claim to have consciousness, can you say me nay?

Consciousness is the awareness we have of the events going on around us. Our soul is our mind, will and emotions. Consciousness is more less a state of mind rather then something that's been created.

The soul is the consciousness, it lives in our chests. It is what will survive death, the rest of our bodies are just vessels and they will become dust. Than on that DAY, God will raise us to show us our account.

I see consciousness as awareness. When people talk about the soul, to me it feels like they are taking a dualism approach. They are differentiating the concept of body and spirit.

it's very different from the soul, considering there is no soul
your consciousness is the part of your brain that you're aware of. the nice little bit of us that holds our conscious thoughts, etc.
