Nope. They are people too and if their attitude doesn't change for bad toward me I don't have any reason to stop being friends with that person. I'd be sad because they stopped believe but it doesn't mean that the person became evil or something. The complete answer is No.
My only Mormon friends are the ones in church and the ones here in YA. All my other friends are Catholic or any other religion and I am the only Mormon in my family and I have a great relationship with everyone. If there is respect everything will always be fine. I respect them all and they all respect me ^_^

Um, my own brother has left the church - and everyone in my family hangs out with him just as much as we ever have, and treats him as a brother just as we always have.
My mom's parents didn't talk to her for about a year after she joined the LDS church, but I don't blame the Catholic church for their actions, that was a selfish decision made by my grandparents alone. Just as any LDS family that disowns a kid for religious differences, is making their own selfish decision that is no reflection of the actual teachings of the faith.
Thanks

Absolutely not! However that being said. I know of hundreds of people who were treated this way by their families for becoming a Mormon. Several I know personally. I know of very few people who have an actual testimony of the Gospel that have left the Mormon church.

I would derinitely still try to have communication with that family member. Unless they became a mass murderer or something weird like that. That's too bad about your brother. There must be more to this than meets the eye.

I don't think you will get any yes answers but my dad sure loves to tell me that hes a christian (hes mormon) and that my children get to make up their mind for themselves (unfortunely they are all saved and don't want to be mormon or atheist or wiccan) and we are on th eotherside of the continent so its hard to say if we have been abandoned, the Army did that. But yet my dad knows all and is even more judemental then most christians.

I'm not a mormon, and I don't know for the religion what they teach about that. However, I do know that they are people too, and have feelings. Although at times they seem to be distant from me because I won't join their religion, they are at other times open and friendly. If they love their family, I don't think they would stop communicating with them. Do you think they would?

Of course not! You still love your siblings no matter what. Now...the sibling's parent's reaction to that is another story. I know that my Dad would disown me if I decided to leave the church because he'd be embarassed that it would reflect bad on HIM. I know that because he's an ****** and is 70yrs old and was raised in a totally different generation.

My Brother left the church 8 years ago and we are closer now than we have ever been. My children adore him, and even though he is now agnostic -- he is one of the most Christlike people I know.
I am sorry some jerks treated your brother badly.

NEVER!!! I have a brother who converted to being Catholic and I love him unconditionally! I have another brother who has decided that there is no God, but he is still my brother.
Edit: DUDE!!! You're a self-proclaimed ex-Mormon. Did you disown yourown brother?

The only reason I would have for avoiding anyone like this is because they are too obnoxious about leaving. Otherwise, no, I wouldn't. it's their choice.
