I am not looking for anyone to bash anyone elses religion. I want to know why you chose the religion you study or worship. I would like to hear from all religions: christianity, mormons, scientology, ect...
Again, please do not tell me why you did not choose something else, but only why you chose what you chose.
And what keeps you going back?
I prefer not to hear from people who have no religous association since you did not choose anything.

I was born into a Christian family and was raised Christian. As I grew older, I started to do research into other religions to see what was out there. I found many of them had some different traditions that I did not like. I looked into my heart and Jesus continued to call me to Christianity. I continue to follow what he taught and that is to love one another. He teaches to accept people for who they.

I'm a Christian because I can rest in the Lord. Being a Christian is like handing the wheel of your car over to someone that you can ultimately trust, who Loves you , and has your best interest at heart. You can finally rest and receive such a peace. Once you know the Lord you need not to look no further. Good Luck

I attended bible camp and church when I was 13 but I actually got removed from the camp for asking innapropriate questions like - why doesn't god have a wife? or If God made us in his image why aren't we all male or Why is God separate from the world? he created in but he's not a part of the cycle and the seasons. And their not so favorite - There are heaps of Gods in history dating thousands of years back in every culture so where did they all go? lol

Then I was in a bookstore one day and was reaching for another book but my hand constantly pulled out Scott Cunninghams Living Wicca - which funnly enough was on the wrong shelf. : )
I decided to buy it and found everything I'd ALREADY believed in was true. I wasn't strange for communing with nature and believeing in elementals and our connection to Gaia (mother earth) I always felt her presence. Even my parents thought I was a reincarnated hippie when I was 2/3 yrs old because I was always talking to plants and trees and leaving offerings for the elementals.

Satanist and proud.

I've always believed (as far as I can remember) in the principles of Satanism, but I stumbled upon the name for my unique ideology quite accidentally.

Not going to post a life history, but to sum it up: I picked up a copy of the Satanic Bible out of sheer curiosity, and the contents of the book matched me. I've been a proud Satanist ever since.

Hail Satan!

The religion I chose, more so the one that chose me, I did because it perfectly suited and still suits my beliefs/thoughts on divinity, afterlife, daily life, morals/values, and it gives me a sense of pride and heritage regarding my family and ethnic background.

I had followed a number of different religions. What I have found in my sojourn to understanding is the one written in the holy bible.

It calls out and speaks to my soul and i know no greater word than the message written therein.

That word is truth to me. I know no greater, even though I had followed after so many........

to confirm that faith to paintings you're able to desire to have self belief. faith, with the aid of definition, is concept in an element against or in-spite of info to the choice. faith ability not thinking, you settle for something devoid of evidence. so as to try this you're able to desire to close off logic and reason while it comprises this section. there is not any evidence of god, no purpose evidence in any respect. faith is had to have self belief in a god. faith is an prompt opposite of logic and reason. Edit: faith and logic are incompatible. faith exists because of the fact of a loss of info. i don't have self belief that 6 comes after 5, i know it does. i don't have self belief that as quickly as I leap up i visit come back backpedal, i understand i visit because of the fact of gravity. those are shown, those have info helping them. in case you have faith in something it somewhat is only because of the fact there is not any evidence of that factor. you could say you have faith in somebody to do the wonderful factor in view which you do not understand for confident they are going to, this is not a certainty, this is not shown until eventually they do it. faith flies in the face of logic, that's desperate with the aid of practise, records and info. faith occurs while those issues are absent.

I was raised Catholic. I always loved God, but in my late teens I began having doubts about the Catholic church. So I started going to different Christian denominations, counseling with ministers, finally Bible studies... as I studied the Bible in a Pentacostal church I expected to be able to understand God better and get closer to Him-- but it wasn't making enough sense. I was listening to what the pastor and other students explanations were, but it just wasn't clicking. I started doing a little more research and came across non-Christian views on the Bible, and more liberal Christian views on the Bible. Those made more sense to me.

I still believed, though, and prayed to God to help me get closer to Him and show me how to understand Him. Then Wicca, a religion I'd never heard of, started popping up in my life. I started reading up on it expecting to find something evil, but it made the most sense to me of all (and I'm talking about the religious/spiritual beliefs of Wicca).

I started studying up on various other religions, and started to see religions more as a cultural phenomenon. Somewhere along the line I stopped believing that there was one way to relate to the Divine Spirit, but many ways people could reach out to it.

But I kept coming back to Wicca, after a couple of years I dedicated myself to the Wiccan path and continue to walk it now 15 years later. I think God simply answered my prayers and showed me how I could best understand/get closer to Him (/Her!).
