My husband is overseas and I would like to be considerably smaller when he gets home. I see myself as extremely overweight and am currently on the Atkins diet. IT WORKS!!! Just wondering if anyone has any tips. Oh, I weigh 239 (5'6")right now and I would like to be in the 160's. Also, if anyone has pictures of what 160 lb woman looks like, that would be VERY helpful. I need motivation. And does anyone know what size a woman who weighs 160 or 170 might wear? Thank you for all your help. God Bless <3

5'6 and 160 would probably be a size 20W. I am guessing. 75 pounds in a little over 3 months is not impossible BUT it can be unhealthy. I think just a 10 pound loss would be a healthy start. Don't set your goal high. We all want to look at the finished product but we forget about the time and speed bumps along the way. Set a healthier goal like 10 lbs. then next time 5 pounds. The soon you will be down in no time. Walk walk walk. It is free and so good for your heart. Don't get discouraged when you fail. Pick yourself back up and keep going.
Is your husband in the military. GOD BLESS HIM!. May he come home safe and sound. Tell him I am proud of him and a BIG THANK YOU for protecting us.
Thank you!!! for letting your husband Go and protect us. That was a huge sacrifice!

You can safely lose between 22- 30 pounds in 15 weeks.
Some fad diets will claim more, but that weight will all come back.
Follow your diet [ how much did you lose, and how long did it take? ], drink 1/2 gallon of water a day, and take a multivitamin with minerals
Do cardio 5 - 6 x a week for weight loss, and do 3 sets each of pushups, situps, obliques, and crunches every day.
P.S. Allure magazine has people in the process of dieting every month - you can see each one at different weights

It really depends on the individual, some people lose quickly, some more slowly, some the weight loss seems to creep along with frequent stalls (like me.....).
However, I've come to believe that losing it slowly is the healthiest way. It gives your body time to adapt to the changes, you have less chance of hanging loose skin when you're done, and it gives you time to get used to your permanent new eating habits.
I'm sure you didn't GAIN 75 lbs in 15 weeks, why would you expect it to come off that fast? Losing is much harder than gaining.

I don't know if this can be done cuz that's a huge amount of weight loss in a short amount a time. That may be unhealthy. The healthy amount of weight u should lose in a week of dieting and exercising should be one or two pounds. I wish you luck!

i'm not really an expert on dieting, but i think the only way that would happen is if you did gastric bypass surgery. but don't go by me; i'm pretty sure that there are people out there who can give you better answers. and remember, when worst come to worst, "mind over matter".
