It used to be the guy from that played in the old show "home improvement". One day he is on family feud hosting and the next day it's some other guy. Anyone know?

You may not be aware of the fact that Family Feud has had many hosts, beginning with Richard Dawson (Affectionately known as the Kissing Maniac!) He was originally a cast member on Hogan's Heroes, but gravitated down to being a guest on numerous game shows until finally hosting his own.
In addition to Richard Dawson, the show has been hosted by Ray Combs, was returned to Richard Dawson for one more season, later it was revived with Louie Anderson followed by Richard Karn, and finally settling into it's current incarnation with John O'Hurley

It has had many hosts as stated above. Ray Combs was forced to step down by Richard Dawson who wanted the show back. Ray Combs committed suicide. But to answer your question:
Richard Karn stepped down because he became a co-owner of a company that required his attention and marketing skills. He stated on an interview that he loved doing the show, but it required too much time.

His name is Richard Karn. He hosted Family Feud until last year. Not sure why he left.

The original host of that show was Richard Dawson, he quit in the middle of the show one day after he had an illness.

Don't know why Richard Karn stepped down but I heard that he's in a movie that just finished. It's called Mr. Blue Sky. The other guy that replaced him is John O'Hurley from Seinfeld.

Richard Karn. He stepped down as host of the show. I don't really know why he did, but he wasn't fired or anything.
