I don't believe in any gods or in an afterlife. I believe that when we die, that's it, over and done with. I'm not 50/50, "maybe there, is, maybe there isn't" -- I don't think there is, and I don't think there's anything that could convince me otherwise, short of, say, Armageddon. HOWEVER, I don't claim to know this for sure; while I certainly think I'm right, I admit that there's no way for me to tell whether or not I am.

An agnostic is by definition an atheist. It is only a minor distinction.
The atheist is definite.
The agnostic takes one step back from the argument and claims the discussion is moot because the question is not logically resolvable.
The ignostic goes a step farther back and says that until somebody defines what they mean by God nobody has a clue about what they are argueing about.

Despite what theists (and even some Atheists!) will tell you, Atheists don't believe, by definition, that gods and deities do NOT exist. This is called a "strawman argument" and is a tactic used by theists to make the Atheist position seem weak. It is a logical fallacy, though (i.e., it ain't true).
Atheism = "without" "belief in gods or deities". If you can't say that you believe in a god or deity, then you are Atheist. If you want to proclaim that gods and deities do NOT exist, then call yourself "anti-theist".

It sounds like athiest to me. Athiest do not believe in any higher power or diety and that all this happened by chance. Contrary to what a couple before me said, agnostic is NOT you don't know whether or not there is a god. Agnostic is that you believe there is a higher power, but disagree with organized religion.
Yes, there is a way to tell whether or not you are right. Start reading a Bible and pray. No, God will NOT show Himself to you. But you will feel a peace about you when you are reading His word. That is His Holy Spirit letting you know that you are on the right path.

I think that we all all agnostics at some point. We do not know for 100%, at least for the satisfaction of body.
If you do nt believe in any deity, you are an atheist. You are agnostic if you admit that you are not sure, but yu do not worship anything.
