We are more alike than you think. I am also 17 and I'm interested in a 23 year old. So the advice for us? If he likes you, I would go for it. Nothing to serious though(wait till your 18) I don't see the big deal with age differences. Age is just a number. I wish you the best of luck with your guy!

No way, age is just one aspect, and if you are happy, then it should not even be considered. Trouble is, we seem to let others impose their views on our relationships. I was talking to a friend of mine, she is 22, her guy is 35. She said that 20 years was too big a difference. I then asked that is her guy came along, with all the qualities that he has now, the qualities that she loves so much, but he was 42 and not 35, then she would not love him? She answered that of course she would still love him. I then asked her again, what age difference became unacceptable and you know what? She had no answer (strange isn't it?)

At your ages right now, yes it is. You're at different levels of maturity and growth. Honestly, and this had nothing to do with you personally, but I'd ask myself why a 23 year old wants a 17 year old.....why can't he get someone his own age? You're probably still in high school and he is at an age where he could be a college graduate. Way too big an age difference right now.

I like his style of waiting until you turn 18 to start dating. How long of a wait is that? I'd keep his as a friend until my 18th birthday, and then guess who I'd want to celebrate it with! :-)
Well, it is a bit of an age difference, but it's not that bad. As long as it's all legal, then I don't see why there should be much of a problem. Just remember that he's in a totally different area of his life, and he might expect a lot of you sexually. Are you willing to deal with that?

if i was about to turn 18, i would date the guy. I mean, who cares how old u r. if you really love that person, you should be with them, and age won't stand in betweeen you. my mom and dad are 4 years apart and they love each other very much. Just make sure you are 18 until you date the guy, cause you wouldn't want to get in trouble with the law!

its really not that big of a deal. if he can wait til you're 18- do that. just keep going to walmart- get to know him a bit more and when you turn 18- give him a try. i'm old enough to be your mother and i honestly don't think that if you were my kid i would have a hard time with you seeing someone his age as long as i felt that he was a good guy.

Honestly, age means nothing once you're at your age. Six years is much different if you were 11 and he was 17, but at your ages, all age is is how long you've been alive. lol think about it like that and age is nothing but a number

No its not really a big age differnce!!! If you really like him age and what everyone thinks shouldnt matter to you. I would go for it but first make sure that hes just not trying to get some action. I would date him if i really like him.

That's not a big age difference, at all. I'd say go for it!
Age is just a number, nothing more.
