no you would just ring 911 or 999 in the UK, hopefully you will never need to call them, keep safe all the best, these calls are both free.

This is to Jose N. I amazed at what people think they know. When a person calls 911 from thier house it will go to the local 911 center. The address where the call is coming from shows up on the screen. So if you are trying to get a number for the police in another jurisdiction, you have to call information or look it up in a search engine.

Individual police stations have their own numbers for non-emergencies. If you have to call 911 for someone in another state, you could tell the operator where the emergency is and they would send someone there.

Nope. The 911 connection doesn't work that way. You need to look up the regular number of the police in the other state and call them the old fashioned way.

No. You have to have the phone numbe of that particular station. 911 gets through to an emergency dispatcher, and they send people out from the assets nearest the incident. If you're calling a different state, it's probably not an emergency.

You shouldn't call 911 unless you have an emergency. Find the number for the agency online or contact you local police/sheriff's department and ask them for the number

No because you would still be in a very large area. I think the operator would get you to your chosen destination much faster without tying up valuable 911 people.
