I have yet to hear an audible voice, at least while conscious. But I have gotten directives from God which are confirmed by circumstances. When God tells me specifically to pray about something, for example, He inevitably answers that prayer. It's not an audible voice, it's a strong compulsion, a feeling of specific intention that has nothing to do with my own personal will or desires. I probably would question it if it were merely in my head. But often the compulsion from God to do something goes against my own desires, and inevitably I find that it was the right thing to do when circumstances play out.

If you don't want God to talk to you, He probably won't. But He might; it wouldn't be the first time. If that's the case, though, you probably won't like what He has to say.

You will know how well you are "linked" to Jesus by how well you hear him, you'd better think of other avenues then MP3 if you want to have a pleasant eternity

I too would like to know how this jesus person sounds as well as god. This way when they kill a baby or child they can have actual proof of god telling them to do such a horrible thing to a person.

When the Holy Spirit points something out to you, you just know that it is of God and not of yourself. I can't explain how that is, but that's just how it is. When God puts something on your heart, then you simply know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was He who put it there.
