I'm not anti Christian. I am looking for answers. But if I believed what Christians believed, which to my understanding is this... that God created all mankind, that it was perfect, that man sinned on his own, that God judges him because of his, that Jesus intervened on his own and took the sin of mankind upon himself and became the blood sacrifice for all men who would accept him as their Lord and Savior. If I believed Jesus was the only way to live in eternity in paradise instead of a place where God would punish me for my crimes against him, I would do all I could to tell people the truth, no matter what it cost me. I would not try to make any money from this message, unless it paid for me to tell others. I would give everthing, including my own life to spread this message. I have trouble believing this message because of the lack of devotion shown by the Christians around me. Before you ask, I have read the Bible, 3 times. Also, I have studied what the Mormons teach the JW.

As far as I can remember Jesus sais to deny the flesh, and Paul said that altough we are of the world we should not be like the world, but that most of you are making these same excuses for those who make a profit off their message.

I read a biography about a woman married to a Christian missionary once. I think his name was ...something Elliott...and her name was Elizabeth Elliott. Let me know if I these name ring a bell to anyone. But I remember thinking, if I were a Christian, I would be like that. Really, I am not anit-Christian, just looking for the truth, yet with questions.

Better that they obsess over money than over young children.

I thought Jesus or Paul said something about all sins are equal. But I do tend to agree with you.

Maybe saying they obsess over money is an oversatement. Maybe I mean to say they care about money more than getting their message out.

First, I need you to go back to the book of Romans. Chapter 7 to be exact, but you can start at the beginning if you wish.

Paul is a very devout believer who would and did give his life for the cause of Jesus CHrist.

In Romans, Paul talks about our human flesh, how his body and ours defies what we know in our hearts.

We stilll sin, even when we do not want to. It is a fact that our bodies are flesh and that flesh sins and wants to sin. Our spirit is what has been made pure and sinless before God, not our bodies.

THe verse that best fits this description comes from Paul in the seventh Chapter. That which I want to do, I do not. That which I do not want to do, that I do.

So, yes, we can want to shout to the world that God is our creator and that Jesus Christ paid the sin debt for me.
But I fail on a daily basis, and God knows this, and for this reason he gave his only begotten son, so that whom so ever should believeth on him, should have ever lasting life.

I am very grateful that God judges the heart, not the flesh.

Such self-described "Christians" perhaps ignore Jesus' words.

(Matthew 6:19-21) Stop storing up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break in and steal. Rather, store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

(Matthew 10:7-14) As you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.’ ...You received free, give free. Do not procure gold or silver or copper... Into whatever city or village you enter, search out who in it is deserving... Wherever anyone does not take you in or listen to your words, on going out of that house or that city shake the dust off your feet.

You forget that Christians are not perfect, just forgiven. That is the main issue here. i agree that power goes to the head, but that is Satan's temptations and he rules the earth like a roaring lion but when the earth comes to its end and eternity begins, you have 2 ticket choices then Heaven and Hell and you have already chosen your ticket by your life on earth.

Probably because they are not true christians; not true followers of Jesus christ. The money is more important than what they believe in .

The love of money is the root of all evil. This is not just a problem with Christians, it is a problem with man.

cause they still haven´t read Ephessians 2:15 "By means of his flesh he abolished the enmity, the Law of commandments consisting in decrees, that he might create the two peoples in union with himself into one new man and make peace"

so the law of commandments was abolished including tithing.

musicians, i can't comment on. but ministers have families! they aren't focused on money, but they need to support their family, and so many ministers families are on the lower end of money, and live without many of the luxuries that we have (ex. iPod, cell phone). if you are so eager to spread the Gospel, than go ahead. but God also said to take care of your family. get over yourself and actually think next time.

I've never noticed this "obsession"
It seems like an unfair generalisation.
