John 14:6 says that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life - no one can come to the Father except through Him. Jesus says that there is no other way to heaven other than Him.

No, they are not necessarily saying Jesus is a liar, because there are other possibilities that you didn't list. Such as:
1. Jesus was wrong, but truly believed He was right, which means He didn't really lie.
2. Jesus was mentally ill.
3. Jesus never said any of this; His disciples made it up after He died. (remember, we have no real proof that the Gospels are true)
I'm opting for number 3, personally. Also, remember that if someone does think Jesus is a liar, then it is unlikely that they actually think He is God. Therefore, in their opinions, they are not calling God a liar. It is all about perspective.

Just because you personally don't believe that doesn't make Him a liar. It just means that you don't chose to believe what He said, " I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"
In Hebrews 6:18 it clearly states that it is impossible for God to lie, "God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged."
