I am not aware of any bombs going to scrapheaps - most is either exploded or buried by its country of origin. Most scrap, in particular ships and computers, is sold to companies in India because safety standards for handling hazard materials are almost non-existent. Usually the rules that do exist are overlooked and workers placed at risk to develop future health problems. Labor is cheap and plentiful in India so the companies make a good profit. Yes, other countries do deal in scrap but not in the large quantity that India does.

India has lower health standards..lower regulations..no CAL OSHA, lower wages, and has the perfect coast line for the job...most obsolete ships from all over the world, scrap metal with toxins are bought by the Indian government..when the tide is the highest the ships ground themselves on the beach and then they begin to cut it up for resale.
