I think this gets asked every day here on ya.
How did you feel before you were born? That's how you'll feel after you die. You won't exist, and you won't have any consciousness to be aware that you don't exist. A difficult concept, but eventually everyone experiences it, and then that's it.
Sarah, it's ridiculous to say that "whatever you decide" is what really will happen to you. Something actually, physically, happens. This is not shaped by opinion. You can decide that the sun's going to rise in the north from now on, but that won't the direction of the earth's rotation.

Eccelesiastes 12:5

"Then the dust will return to the earth as it was,
And the spirit will return to God who gave it. "

There's resurrection of the dead.

John 5:28-29

"Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice

and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation."

Daniel 12:2

"And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
Some to everlasting life,
Some to shame and everlasting contempt. "

There's a day of judgment.

Acts 17:31

"because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”

All of us must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ.

2 Corinthinas 5:10

"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad."

People will be judged according to their works.

Revelations 20:11-12

"Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.

And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before the throne, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books."

Your spirit floats around in outer space for a while.
Then you transform into a new star that has planets orbiting around you that you are in charge of governing.

Then you go supernova and implode into a black hole.

Maybe after that, you evolve into a galaxy on the other side of the universe.

A lot of people believe we either go to Heaven or Hell, some people think that we began a new life(reincarnation), and some think that we simply cease to exist.
I think that whatever you decide to believe is what happens to you.For me I like the idea of reincarnation.

If you are saved, your spirit goes to be with God....if you are not saved, you go to the grave to lie until Judgement Day. Then all will be called to judgement...those who are unsaved will not see eternal life, those who are saved will go to be with God for ever in a beautiful place prepared just for them.
