I don't mean to scare you but if you have" BLACK STOOLS" and I mean the color of black licorice or black tar then you need to see your DR.,because you may have internal bleeding somewhere...when blood is digested it comes out in your stool black in color ....then it is bleeding inside somewhere my question is have you been taking any medication you have never taken before? do you have acid reflux?"heart burn,or when you lay down do you get that burning liquid in your throat? because some medications do not go well with acid reflux disease.
My culprit was the medication Toradol a pain medication given to me by my (now no longer dentist} for a tooth ache.and I have acid reflux disease (which i did not know at the time but i did know.. i had heartburn alot)
...my stools were also BLACK and I got to a point where i could not walk across the room without my heart rate going up to 150 beats per minute.... sitting still was 100.
I ended up in the ER and then almost passed out and the Dr rushed to get blood in me!!! i had an endiscope "upper Gi" done the next day but prior to that i was given 5 units of blood and electrolytes (salt replacement) i could have died.....
what i had was BLEEDING ULCERS in my stomach CAUSED BY THE MIX OF TORADOL AND ACID REFLUX DISEASE. Now if i am correct mylanta is for heartburn and indigestion? you probley have bleeding ulcers so go tell the dr what you have and get help.

You'll get a light stool from these products. Don't worry about the bleeding answer, You and no one else can tell if your bleeding, a lab has to diagnose this through a test.

What you'll have is small black tarry substances in your stool that would have to be examined by a lab, that's why a doctor has to send it out, it can't be diagnose in the office, don't get scared.
This could be anything from an ulcer, to irritated intestine.

I would suggest you see your doctor though.
