Ok so I'm planning a bible study for my youth group and I'm talking about how it doesn't matter if we are weak because he is strong and he doesn't need our strength he just needs us to be willing to be used for his purpose. What are some good bible verses to go with this?

Just any that talk about his power and strength and saying he can use us no matter who we are.

1 Corinthians 1:25  Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

2 Corinthians 12:9  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Hope this helps.

GOD bless

The story of Gideon is a good one to go with this, as is the story of David (Judges 6; 1 and 2 Samuel).

"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul." (Psalm 143:8)

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." (Romans 12:1-2)

"Unless the LORD builds the house,
its builders labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchmen stand guard in vain.

"In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to those he loves." (Psalm 127:1-2)

Psalm 18, especially verses 1-2.

BibleGateway.com is an excellent site to use for this sort of thing. You can search for passages, keywords, or topics. I suggest searching for the topic "strength" and find some that talk about what you plan to discuss. The passages I mentioned were a few verses I thought of right off the bat. The first two are about conforming your will to God's will, and the third is about how whether you think you can do it or not, the final decision is made by God.

I saved the best for last:
"But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Isaiah 44:6 "I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God."

Psalm 68:34 "Ascribe power and strength to God; His majesty is over Israel, and His strength and might are in the skies."

Ezekiel 26:3 "Therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Tyre, and will cause many nations to come up against you as the sea mounts up by its waves."

Ezekiel 26:4 "And they shall destroy the walls of Tyre and break down her towers; I will also [a]scrape her dust from her and make her bare like the top of a rock."

"Great is our Lord and of Great Power." Psalms 147:5.
It's our memory verse for our Vacation Bible School week. I have two year olds memorizing this, it's great.

Psalm 119:28 speaks of a wearied soul needing strength:

My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word. (NIV)
In Deuteronomy 11, Moses explains that the result of knowing the commands of God and obeying them is strength.

Observe therefore all the commands I am giving you today, so that you may have the strength to go in and take over the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess. (Deuteronomy 11:8, NIV)

One of the ironies of life is that God gives us the strength to love and obey Him to begin with.

It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. (Psalm 18:32, NIV)

With His finger He wrote on the stone tablets. See Moses, Gideon, Jeremiah. People that confessed they were least but God called them to show his power.

Psalms 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

One of my favorites!
