Jehovah's Witnesses are relatively unique among self-described Christians in that they understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom by Christ Jesus is a real government which will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite

That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire

While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

Jehovah's Witnesses completely adhere to Bible standards of morality and don't water it down with the aid of tolerating people who've intercourse outdoors of marriage or practice homosexuality. They save on with the Biblical occasion of removing those willful ones from the congregation in the event that they're unrepentant. Jehovah's Witnesses have triumph over the ethnic/racial, social, economic prejudices interior of their ranks that are nonetheless issues for many faiths of the international, even interior of ones that declare to be Christian. Jehovah's Witnesses supply their allegiance and devotion just to Jehovah God and Jesus Christ and to not any land or united states of america that they happen to be electorate of; nor do they positioned any faith in human rulers or leaders. Jehovah's Witnesses are not even remotely a cult in any way.

One of my best friends, who is a Jehovah's Witness, told me that they believe:

1) they don't believe in hell
2) that when people die, some go to heaven, and some stay here, where everyone lives in peace.

A little over a 100 years ago a bunch of theologians who were into crunching numbers more than they were into the message of Christ tried to calculate when the end of the world was going to happen.

This morphed into a misguided version of Christianity in which the time of the end of the world, and they're additions to the Bible have changed about 3 or four times.

The Seventh Day Adventist gave it up and are more or less not a cult religion anymore like the witnesses and their closely related friends the Mormans

They are Christian based but the time periods in the Bible are expanded. One day equals thousands of years.
They also believe that "Jesus Christ will return to resurrect the dead, restoring soul and body. Those judged righteous will be given everlasting life on a paradise earth. Those judged unrighteous will not be tormented, but will die and cease to exist. "
Another major aspect is noted in the term "Jehovah's Witnesses". It refers to the fact that a witness or believer must spread their faith to as many as possible. They believe it is their obligation by God.

Nothing, they're just as false as many mainstream Christian religions. The exception for them is that they do not celebrate any heathen traditions. But, they prophesied since before 1914 to 1985 the second coming of Christ - falsely I might add. They also don't believe in a burning Hell, or that Jesus is God, but god.

God Bless You

We closely follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ which makes us a true Christian. Many openly claim they believe in Christ and yet they fail to follow his command to preach the good news of God's Kingdom.

Ahem. Ms. Lemming Princess, perhaps you weren't listening in the meetings. You said they never mentioned the Grace of God? It is mentioned all the time...and we read it all the time in the Bible. The grace of God is God's undeserved kindness which Jehovah gave us for free.

1) Jehovah arranged for his Son to die a sacrificial death—something that cost God dearly. Grace of God? No doubt!

2) The resurrection hope for all mankind both unrighteous and righteous. Grace of God? Certainly is! For God did not have to give us that hope.

For 22 years that you were a Witness, they never mentioned in the meetings you attended about God's undeserved kindness? How odd because it is the "grace" of God, Jehovah's undeserved kindness to mankind is one of the first few things we show/teach to our new Bible studies.

Basic they believe that there will only be 144,000 people saved and that there is no such place as hell. When Jesus returns the saved will just be the only ones left and they will just stay here on earth, and keep on doing what ever they are doing. They also are against violence and you shouldn't protect yourself or family if someone breaks into your home and kills your wife and kids your to do nothing. They don't believe in people giving blood and would not let them give blood to save their childrens life. The last one I talked to I told you have the right to believe whatever you what and if someone tried to take that right away from him we would take up arms and fight for his rights even though he wouldn't. I was raise in a Christian family am well schooled in the Bible and they don't seem to want to debate as they don't ever come back.

They do not believe they are saved by anything other then their own good works. If we can do anything to work our way into salvation then why did Christ die for our sins? I think they try to invalidate the sacrifice made at the cross for all mankind! The Bible says there is no man that is good. All fall short. We are all in need of the atonement sacrifice of the Lamb of God! Without it we are all lost! They also do not believe in the love they claim to have among themselves. I have seen them turn their backs on one of their own in need. They also believe in shunning anyone in their "organization" who questions any of the governing body rules. They look to men instead of God. This is why they believed that the "system of things" would end in certain years. Even when they were proved wrong and these years came and went, they still cling to anything the "organization" has to say! The Bible says that no man knows the day or hour! Because they believe man and not God, I would call this bunch a cult.
