In the first passage it isn't God speaking I don't think, its the leader of an army attacking a besieged town. He's saying that because they are surrounded they are going to starve and have to resort to such things.
The second passage is again about a starvation situation I believe, I think in this case he is talking about fasting out of grief.
The last three passages describe cannabilism that occurs within a siege situation. So these aren't exactly commandments of God but I can see why you would wonder what is holy about this book of endless horror and bloodshed. I often wonder the same thing.

No,let me explain what is happening here. This kind of things are records of what has happened. God's will is great for us, if we take it as He offers it. This is actually a good story about the disobedience.

Isaiah 36:12,II Kings 18:27(the words were drwn from the street language )
The foreign emissary continued his efforts to damage the city's morale by speaking of horrors of famine that a long siege would entail. That is the crude way of describing the horrors of famine if ( potential hardship of prolonged siege ) Jerusalem was to be besieged.

The contrast is described in verse Isaiah 36:16 " Do not listen Hezekiah.( The Assyrian strategy was to negotiate in the hearing of the people in order to demoralize them and turn them against Hezekiah ) This what the king of Assyriah says" Make peace with me and come out to me. Then everyone of you will eat from his own wine and fig tree and drink water from his own vine and fig tree and drink water from his own cisterns, until I come and take you to a land like your own - a land and grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards."

Own wine and fig tree are the symbols of security and prosperity in the best of times.

Ezekiel 4:12
( God at first commanded Ezekiel to use the human excrement because it would most accurately and forcefully symbolize the horror of the coming siege of the city. )

Here "human dung" refers relates only to the fuel used to to prepare the food. Bread was baked on hot stones, heated by human wase because no other fuel was available during the siege. This was repulsive and polluting.

Cow dung, a common fuel, was allowed as a substitute in light of Ezekies's faithfulness to the ceremonial law.

Leviticus 26:29
Further disobedience would result in cannibalism. That actualy happened.

Deuteronomy 28:53
The horror of siege, hunger and deprivating would lead people to behave in ways that they otherwise could compare to the horror of a mother eating her own children.

2 Kings 6:29
Eat him: Israel had been warned that national disopedience could reduce the people to such a loathsome deed .

These things were said because God was tired of His chosen children disobeying Him and following the ways of the heathen. The same things that God hated then, He hates now! Easter and Christmas are from the same worship system that God abhorred and severely punished His children as well as the other nations of the earth.

God Bless You

the scripture in Ezekiel was when Ezekeil was acting out the prophecy that gods people would ea unclean things. Oh, and by the way, he didn't eat the "excrement" . He used it to bake Bread, as apposed to using animal dung.

2 Kings was during a huge war with persia. the people were starving. He did not tell them to eat it.

Though this was posted 7 years ago. the answer to this verse has nothing to do with eating dung and drinking piss. Nearly all of Gods word is hidden from the wise and prudent and reveled unto babes born again in the Holy Spirit unto Him. To all these verses God is telling His people if they disobey Him and insist on sinning against Him, He will cut them loose, and let them go resulting in a fall like that of the old saying you make your bed you must lay in it...... Because as most people don't teach the whole truth of Gods word for fear of losing their congregation, will only teach the word concerning the part where God is all Love. They seem to forget or pass the part where God said He will Destroy the wicked. And that nothing wicked shall enter the Kingdom of heaven. Nor will He suffer the wicked to live ((means they will not live in peace here on earth and are condemned if they do not repent and sin no more))........ Plus they tend to not teach the parts where God created all things and if it weren't for Him nothing would be created. It is like when you hear a parent say I brought you into this world I will take you out. Well that is how God feels about wicked people. He will turn them to a reprobate mind especially to those who call on His Holy name yet live constantly in sin as there are millions of people who do call on His name and are caught in sin daily giving the true believers (which are few) a bad name. In other words no man can serve two masters, he will either hate the one (that is good) and love the other (that is evil) or hold to the one (that is good) and despise the other (hate the wicked one). as all this causes strife within ones self having not a path to go on resulting in hate and confusion, ( as most suicides are caused by grief and despair and hate toward others and against themselves. Mostly in drug and alcohol abuse.....not knowing which side is up. No one can serve God and mamman and have a peaceful life on earth, not to mention a new life in heaven..... In other words if you want to know the truth about God, and I know some of you don't believe, But for those that do or may have a concern about God, DON'T GO TO A CHURCH!, (Because even most pastures can only teach certain things... Like when a pasture or minister will say one thing about the truth of God and gets ridiculed for it, will later turn around and apologize for what he said, is one that has no understanding of God, or is afraid of loosing his high seat in the church not having much faith in God causing confusion)................So to Find the truth you are so concerned about, do what God asked us to do, Go to a quiet private place and ask Him for your self, instead of getting your answers from the internet or man, instead go straight to the source, God All mighty, The Father Him self...............Trust me it took the biggest part of my life and a suicide attempt to finally find the only road I am at peace on and that is with Him having no doubt at all, and no I don't go to church but I do have fellowship with those who are at peace who really love Him also.

Well, gee, from these passages it would seem that the God of Israel was a bit of a pervert and a cannibal-lover, doesn't it? These are some good examples of things that don't impress me too much about the Bible. Kind of makes you wonder about people who state unequivocally that the Bible is their source of inspiration and guidance for their behavior here on Earth. Now, of course, if these passages are taken out of context, as so many fundamentalist preachers are wont to do, that would reflect on your credibility, wouldn't it?

Even liars are God's children and the Bible tells us there's a place on Earth for all God's children. Have you considered space exploration?

Did you bother to find out who it was who sent who, who said what? No, of course not. It would take all the fun out of your life and then where would you be.

Have you read any children's books about flowers and puppies and stuff like that? Maybe they could help you.

The Bible is screwy that's why. Men wrote the Bible and it's a make believe story to get people to live better lives.
