All the time at the hospital I work at....almost every day.

Some guy had a heart attack and died at a picnic table in the park. That was creepy (no offense intended). I was also present at the death of a relative. People look completely different when they're dead. I can see where the ghost myths came from. The image haunted my nightmares for some time. No tv show or movie I have ever seen has ever done a realistic dead body.

That is an interesting question, I wonder why you ask.
Yes, I have seen many dead bodies, as I am a nurse and
have cared for those who have been ill and passed over.
I've worked in hospitals, detox/rehabs, and hospice.
A dead body is not much different in appearance than a living
body though the spirit has departed and there is no movement.
There is nothing scarey or spooky about it; nothing like that.
If you are there with a person as they die, it is profoundly
spiritual as they prepare to go on to a better place usually
after significant suffering here.
Hope that answers your inquiry.

Yes, my ex-sister-in-law passed away last July at her home after a long illness and I stayed with my daughter until the coroner came to take her Aunt's body to the funeral home.
BTW, there was NO smell in the house!

No and it would taint the house as the soul must have time to leave the body and it must be left alone. So one must not go within about eight feet of it but it must be moved. One tries not to keep the sick and ailing at home if death is near so that they can be tended to by the right people and well, so that the smell isn't in the house.

Yes. He died from an accident. His severed body was only meters from us, and it happened near a restaurant. Picturing it into our mind, the severed leg and all and like he's been butchered or something, and the smell... Totally gross.
When I was 4, I faintly recall, we are in our province and there is a flash flood in a town several kilometers away from ours, a hundred people died. I went there with my dad and all we can see are bodies with bloated faces and muddy all over. It was sad and gross at the same time.

I work in a hospital. Seeing dead bodies is part of the job.

Yes. My mother died on June 3rd. I performed Wiccan last rites over her body and placed her ritual jewelry upon her.
EDITED TO ADD: To Abdullah al-Ingusha Romanovskia... the depth of your ignorance is astounding. Just-dead bodies do not magically begin to smell immediately.

Worked with the Homicide squad for 15 years - seen all sorts. Cannot quite forget the more grotesque murders or deaths involving children. Still believe autopsies or postmortems are gross.

I smelled a neighbor who had passed and went undiscovered for a couple days. I guess that counts.
And I've seen a couple jumpers fished out of the river.

Yes. As a doctor, I have seen my share. Especially in Med school where we worked on Cadavers on a regular basis.
