the rules are: there is no leave authorized between basic and Tech school. No leave is authorized during Tech school EXCEPT for the two week holiday period between Christmas and New year's. Typically one is allowed to take up to 30 days leave(even if you haven't earned that much) after tech school and before reporting to your first duty station.

only guard have a split training option. basic then tech school a month or more after. active duty does not you go strait from basic to tech which is better that way you stay in the same mind set. i did split and i regretted it i returned to tech school from two months of the real world and it sucked. basic is 6 weeks then tech school is an extension of that it depend what AFSC you are going into it could be two months or a year depending on what you do here is an example an KC-135 Eng mechanic is about 10 weeks give or take and some Intel 1n1xx or computer jobs 2e2xx, 3coxx are 6 months or more, after you leave school your training continues tech school makes you a 3 level then time and training make you a 5 level then seven then nine , etc each level and rank requires different schools, airman leadership 5 weeks for staff Sgt NCO academy for master so on and so forth

You cannot take leave between basic and tech (unless it's for the death of a member of your immediate family). You cannot take leave until AFTER tech school.

As far as how long tech school is, you'd have to let us know what your AFSC is.

Typically you get your first leave after tech school and before your first permanent assignment. The length of your tech school depends on which AFSC you're in.

depends on the job... some are a few weeks, and others such as combat control, pararescue (spec ops) will last about 2 - 2.5 years.
