There are 4 pressure treated wood posts holding up an overhang from a building and they are sitting on concrete bases that are in the ground.

You need to know two things. First, what is the post made of? Wood? Steel? Concrete?

Second, is it a tensile load, compressive load, or bending load?

You should also consider whether the soil will displace or sink under those concrete bases. Are they attached to anything? Or just sitting in or on the ground? Depending on the geology, that might be the weakest link, before you have a prob with compression load on the posts.
