because that was the flesh speaking to the spirit for if the spirit of God had stayed with Jesus He could not have died

It's "Father why have you abandoned me"....that's ok! Because when Jesus said that it was the human part of Him talking not the Holy part! Cuz the Holy Spirit had left him and just left the human part! And obviously He knew he was the son of God cuz if He didn't there is NO way that He would have been able to carry on with a nonsinful life! Yet if your a TRUE Christian you would know that you were one of God's children....but He was the Savior of our world and He knew that! If you are a TRUE Christian you wouldn't doubt and then never believe again! Cuz if you did you need some serious awakening!

It was the moment when all sin of mankind; past, present, and future; poured upon Jesus. God (The Father) being holy can't stand around sins. Only at that time that Father left Jesus.

And that statement doesn't mean Jesus having doubts but merely Jesus just knew that Father really abandoned Him (because of all sins).

Something to remember is that God and Jesus are two seperate individuals, united in purpose (along with the Holy Ghost).

Specifically, what Christ asked on the cross was, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" ("My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?") The reason why Christ was crucified was to pay for the sins of the world. That was something He had to do on His own; God could not interfere in it in any way, shape or form, or Christ's sacrifice would have been for nothing. But God also did not want to see His only begotten son suffering (what good parent would, even if they knew it had to happen?), and withdrew from the area for a while.

Christ was not doubting at the end, God the Father did abandon him because Christ had the sins of the world on him (sin cannot come before the presence of God). That is why Christ had to descend into hell before being resurrected (to pay for the sins). Christ knew this was going to happen thats why he prayed so fervently in the garden of Gathsemane (sp?). Also, you have to understand that God is seen in three distinct persons (Father, Son and Holy Ghost). Thats how Jesus can say I and the Father are one and still say that the Father abandoned him.

This may seem complicated, but if you earnestly seek God will answer you.

I don't think that was doubt, that was more like anguish from bearing the sins of the whole world, from stretching his physical body to its limits, and from feeling the separation that sins causes between men and God. The cross actually became that point in time, space, and matter where man could once more meet God. Remember after your quote Jesus later said "It is finished." What is finished? The plan for man to be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. Jesus believed in God and said the great plan of God was accomplished. That is belief, not doubt.

God withdrew his spirit from him for a time, that is when everything went dark...at that moment, Jesus had to fall back on his human nature. On the cross he had to empty Himself of His immortality, His omnipotence, His omnicience, everything that made Him the Creator God and become a man with no power whatsoever beyond what any man has. Only by doing that at the moment of death, could he die for us as a man. Just for that moment he was like us in every way. He stood in for us.

I think its OK to doubt.. Thats the best gift form "god" ..the ability to question, research and educate yourself, so that you are able to make the best decision.
The Bible was a book, that the Catholics, while "interpreting" may have taken some liberties to Push their movement. I believe alot of crazy things took place in biblical times, but most of the rules where created to control the masses. Now Im not saying don't believe The Bible..In fact, I think it carries a great message, just don't believe every thing your told. Research for you self that way you can make the best interpretation. Everybody interprates it different...
....Sorry for the rambling...Jesus had doubts from the begining...he was human...sort of...

Because Jesus was both true man and true God he was feeling a normal powerful human emotion. I believe the translation that we are familiar with uses the word " forsaken"
The punishment of Hell was upon Him and he was feeling the pain and paying for the sins of all. I think considering the circumstances He handled the whole situation rather calmly.

"I and the father are one" means 'in union with'. "My God my God why have you forsaken me." God did not forsaken Jesus per say, His eyes cannot behold sin and that is the reason why He turned away from looking at Jesus Jesus also being the Son of man felt that lonliness and abandonment on the cross and cried out "Why has thou forsaken me." But not once is it recorded that Jesus has doubted God the Father.

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
"Forsaken me" appears in about a dozen old testament books and may be a literary device. On the other hand, it is unlikely that Jesus would say "Oh God, I didn't think it would hurt this much."
