You can leave it on as long as you want some people leave their ps3 on for weeks at a time running folding@home, but do NOT buy an intercooler! NEVER BUY INTERCOOLERS! Intercoolers do more harm than help and will damage your system and void your warranty!

You're better off just turning it off by unplugging it because if you have it on standby or off (plugged), it's sapping electricity.

But if you don't mind, you can leave it on standby or turning it off. Some people leave it on for hours on end just to run the folding@home project, and they haven't had any issues with overheating, so if you leave it on standby, you shouldn't experience any heating problems. I personally have it off because I don't want to stare at that red light.

I dont know about a ps3, but we left the ps2 on standby alllll the time. so if its not smaller then it should be ok. We have one of those teeny ps2s and that thing gets hot fast, but a standard one should be fine I think.

It is ok to leave it on for a while, but never over 20 hrs. You can get special coolers for it at places like Walmart if you want to leave it on longer. I leave mine on for a long time so that it can do that protein folding program. I've not had any problems so far.

Mine wasn't working for more than 10 hours (running folding@home and charging sixaxis). Nothing had happened (knock-knock-knock).
