I spend a lot of time with my bird. She will get on my hand to eat a treat and she will get on my hand to play with a peice of jewelry. Other than that she wants nothing to do with me. I have had her for two months and still she shows no interest in me. It seems as though she trusts me or she wouldnt so eagerly get on me to get to what she wants, but its clear that she doesnt like me. I have tried taking her in the bathroom and finger training her. But that is so decieving because she doesnt want off my finger in there. In fact if I try to put her down she crawls up my arm. In the bathroom she lets me pet her and kiss her, but when she is in or near her cage she snaps at me when I try to touch her. What am I doing wrong? I really need advice, because I am so frustrated and depressed over this bird. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

You can't force a bird to bond with you in only 2 months! It sounds like you are making good progress, but you are in too much of a rush. Be patient! Like any relationship, it takes time to get to know each other and build trust. Keep working with her and in time she'll be your buddy. :)

Sounds like you just have a tricky bird. One of my lovebirds did this. She "put up with me" but didn't love me and would only behave in certain situations. Since she obviously trusts you, she's just trying to mess with you and make you go crazy. You need to find what she really wants to do. My lovebird turned out to love crawling under my hair and preening it, and once I realized this and let her do it, she just begs to be let out of the cage and spend time with me. If she flies off of you when you're not in the bathroom, you can try what I did with one of my birds that trusted me but was trying to annoy me. I would put her on my finger and then cup my other hand around her so she couldn't get off of and just waited until she stopped struggling. I didn't grab her or hold her tight or anything, I just made it impossible for her to get off of me. Once she stopped struggling, I praised her a lot and she stayed on my finger for a long time and let me pet her. She forgot again the next day so I had to redo the training, but after about 3 days of this, she became very handleable and loves to cuddle. When you pick her up try covering her cage with a blanket so she does not see her cage instead of going in the bathroom to hold her.As for her biting you when she is on her cage do not acted like you are afraid of her it just reinforces the behavior. Also you will want to lower her cage below eye level ,this will help with biting and Territorial problems.Just give her time to really get to know you and she will grow more attached to you in time.
