Can you use a cast net to catch minnows?

Yes you can catch minnows. But be aware that you cannot keep small fingerling game fish that are caught with the rest of the minnows in the cast net. I throw a 6 ft cast net, opens to a 12ft circumference.

Not small minnows but ones about 2 to more inches long you can!
It is a good way to collect shad for catfishing or finger mullet,glass minnows or others like pinfish for saltwater fishing.

u could bt the hole in the net would have to be tiny..... and u can get some nice BASS off minnows

Not in some States, it's considered "fishing" you need to be licensed, catch in an area where there's no game fish ? etc. have licenses for each net or for a regulated period, etc.
