That is disrespectful. I can see why you would be offended. I think there are still some people out there who see the ideal family as having a boy and a girl. There is nothing wrong with having two sons at all! In fact, I think you're especially lucky to have two boys since you said you always wanted boys. Some people are just insensitive and don't think about how what they're saying will sound to the person they are talking to and not considering the feelings of the other person.

Boys are great ! i only have one 5 month old boy, and i do want another one, not just yet though. And i would be over the moon if i got another boy. If i get a girl than thats my pidgeon pair, but honestly people really need to stop saying crap like that, because no matter if you end up with 5 boys you are still going to love them unconditinally ! i mean people cant expect you to keep trying until you get at least one of each. I dont even know how i would cope having a girl, there is so much to consider. Honestly honey, i would just turn to them and say "im happy with my boys" - just leave it at that i would. Some people dont realise that it hurts our feelings.

Yeah people can be very rude. When I had my son and I was pregnant with my 2nd child (who turned out to be a girl) they would ask "Are you hoping for a girl?" And I would say "I'm hoping for a healthy child, I don't care if its a girl or boy," then once I had my daughter people now say "Aww you have the perfect family, one boy, one girl. You're not going to have any more are you?" Well if I want more children I'll have more children. Just because I have one of each sex doesn't mean I don't want another child. Oh I know I went way off subject with that, sorry. Anyways I do think its rude for them to ask if you are going to try for a girl. Good luck!! Have a great time with your boys!!

This is my pet peeve!! I had two boys, and when I was pregnant with my third, this was all I heard! And then when I had my third, it ended up being a girl, which was great, but I would've been just as happy with another boy. And I STILL hear it - people will see my family and say "Oh, you kept giong until you had a girl" or "oh, you're so lucky you got your girl"...... yes, it is, but I adore my my boys just as much. I feel when people say this, it is so hurtful and disrespectful to my precious boys. What does society have against boys??? I always tell them, "noone loves their mommy like a little boy".....

i wouldn't call it rude but it's incredebly thoughtless. don't they ever think of the little boys they're saying that in front of?i think some assume that all women want a girl that they can dote over. i have 3 boys. i'll admit, we all thought the third would be a girl, though i wasn't "trying" for one. there were already 6 grandsons and no girls but when he was born, i knew i wouldn't have had it any other way.honestly, i don't know what i'd do with a girl anyway. i loved having all boys. they keep me on my toes.

Yeah, that is pretty rude. Your question made me recall something a hair stylist told me once as she was cutting my hair. Basically she was chit chatting with me and it came to the point where she said when it was her time to have kids she would only want boys. She thought guys were easier to take care of straight through the teen years.

I can relate...
I have a girl and a boy...
And I get the, "So! You have one of each now - I guess that means you're done, huh?"
?????
Umm..... they aren't baseball cards people!!!!!! I didn't have children so I could "collect 'em all!"......
WTF?
My husband and I might try for one more child in the future.... But I could care LESS if it is another boy OR another girl.....!!!! In my opinion, if you care that much - You shouldn't be having children!!!!!
People are crazy....

Just say "I'm sorry, I don't talk about that with people I don't know." I saw that in an advice column. Or look at them blankly and say "Do I KNOW you?" That ought to give them the clue that their comment is rude. It's amazing how thoughtless people are.
