There is some truth to that. it is as important to feel alive as to be alive.

I said earlier tonight in response to another question, "If you have found all that you are looking for, then you are no longer living, only existing. " We must always have this desire for something--adventure, satisfaction, more wealth, more influence, an opportunity to serve, etc. We must always want to DO something. Otherwise, we might just as well just lay down right where we stand and wait for death to overcome us. Even then, do we not desire SOMETHING? Death is an event, something which we must desire to happen if we just put our lives on hold to await it. We could go round and round on this one all day.

Thinking my answer would be original i said life. Then I checked out the other answers.
The quote is true though. Even if one wants to die because they have nothing to live for, they desire death.
And after death? five bucks says we desire life...

It's true. You live to reach your dreams and you become alive in the process of reaching that dream. Otherwise, you're not living at all.
