If I were to go see a personal trainer and I told them I wanted to build muscle and lose fat, what would they tell me to do? In my highschool gym class we did weight lifting on Mon Wed and Fri and we ran around the track on Tues and Thurs. Would this be a good way to go with resting on Sat and Sun? The exercises would not last more than an hour.

To build muscle - lift weights, and eat protein. HEALTHY protein like raw nuts, lots of boneless skinless chicken breasts, egg WHITES, etc
to lose weight - to cardio, intense cardio....at least 3x a week. running is best to shed the pounds but you can do whatever cardio equipment you have as long as you are working out at moderate or high intensity.
take 2 days rest a week.

you're on the right track, just watch your diet and rest - its when you're resting that your muscles are building up...so rest is KEY. and you dont want any injuries, either. Good luck!
