I was so happy I cried when they gave the final tally in the senate today. It feels great to win a hard fought battle.

I am very happy the current bill died a miserable death - it was so well deserved.
I have yet to hear anyone explain why ALL of the aspects of the last immigration overhaul bill were never implemented. Simpson-Mazzoli 1986 - the last amnesty which was supposed to include punishment for employers of illegals and border security.
If those provisions had been seriously enforced, would we be dealing with 12-20 mil. criminal invaders now? I think not.

I'm reserving my happiness because I think they will try to sneak some part of it in another bill when we aren't looking. Doesn't it scare you that some republicans and democrats worked together? There seems to be more going on here than we know. Keep you eyes open.

I'm just dumbfounded. I am amazed that so many Congress people think we should retain some national sovereignty. Usually they put their political game-playing at a higher priority than the national good.

I would be much happier if we had a different congress. Then maybe we can seal the border and deport the illegals once and for all. Only then can cities like Miami speak English again.

i was extremely happy. these politicians only think of themselves and probably have illegals mow their lawns, build their extravagant homes, while these illegal aliens our polluting our neighborhoods and reaping benefits that American citizens don't even get. i know many ppl who would love not to pay their taxes and not get in trouble. these ppl absolutely do not deserve amnesty. maybe they should of came the legal way.

Mild relief is about as much as I can muster. Remember, our borders are still wide open, and the peevish Federal Government is even less enclined to enforce them, now that we've rained on thier Amnesty Parade.

I am but I still know it is not going to stop until we send them back home and stop giving them food stamps and welfare . Also we need to let the police do their job and round them up off the street .
