He does all these things because he CAN. You need to establish your dominance as pack leader. It will be incredibly hard for you to play the role of the "bad guy". However if you do your home will be a happier more harmonious place. Dogs want a structured pack. They accept behavior that humans push on them, such as being cradled like a baby, but are really much happier with a structured pack.

You are letting the dog be the master. You need to say "No" and mean it. The dog will know you love it anytime you praise it. Stop going overboard. You need to act now before the baby comes and the dog gets jealous.

Stop picking him up and ignore him. My dog whined for affection for thirty minutes one time when I was sleep. She jumped on the bed and I petted her, when I stopped 3 mins. later (b/c it was 3:00am), she began to whine. I turned over and ignored her.

She never bothered me again when I was sleep unless something was wrong.

stop babying him
you always give in to what he wants so hes gonna keep doing it
he doesnt always need to be with you
thats stupid
dont pick him up
dont always let him be with you
he will get over it
whatever you do DONT give in

do u kennel him? I cover my dogs kennels with sheets for quiet time, it is most effective. Maybe it is separation anxiety. You could talk to your vet about this.
