recently i asked you guys about my 57 in. sony projection tv, my budy took the red lense off and spilled glyconol all over the board, also the tv is bowed at the bottom about 6 in, not the top though. well i cleaned all the glyconol off, i got the tv to turn on by unpluging the red lamp circuit and plugging it back in, sometimes the tv will still turn off, i know it is because the safty feature, more then likey to little or too much amps, im sure some resisters went bad. now last question guys.. i hope.. i cant afford to pay to fix this thing, and i dont know much about fuses and resistors and such, heck i dont even know what they look like, but i baught a voltage regulator and a soldering gun, so i need to find out what to look for, and how to test if its good or bad, and where to get the parts, can anyone help???

I would love to help you fix your TV but from what you say about your level of know how on TV repairs you stand no chance at all , when I say this I am not being sarcastic or exaggerating but you face about the same degree of difficulty as you would if a neuro surgeon was to hand you his scalpel and say to you " Michael will you just perform this frontal lobotomy on this patient while I go to lunch ? " . No joke either !!
Cheers Pete

Without a schematic, you are shooting in the dark!
Try not to kill yourself as well....

Call a professional and they will just replace the board.
Nobody is replacing components any more. Most of them are surface mount and you can't replace them without proper tools.
