My 7-month old kitten just got her first vaccinations today. She got a vaccine for ravies, feline panluekopenia, feline rhinotracheitis, feline calicivirus, feline pneumonitis, and feline leukemia. Once I brought her back from the vet, she seemed very tired and went to sleep. She's been sleeping since noontime, so its been 8 hours so far!!
Is this normal? Will she be okay? Could she be having some sort of allergic reaction??

Some cats do get a vaccine reaction, but it's usually mild "feeling punky" like your kitten. Usually it is the Rabies vaccination that causes it. You should mention the kitten's reaction next time you see your vet, or if she still seems to be feeling droopy or feverish and sleeping a great deal by tomorrow, you should give him a call. He can give her some medication to make her feel better, and when she needs another Rabies vaccination he can give it separately, with some medication to prevent a reaction.
It doesn't seem like your kitten has had a severe reaction -- those come on within a few minutes of the injection and involve difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, and/or vomiting and diarrhea.

I agree with all the answers - kittens just take time to get over getting vacinated. Sleeping is normal.
If she is not back to normal in three or four days, call the vet. Also call the vet if she develops any really severe symptoms - not drinking or eating - very warm paws - not pooping or peeing - rash.
When the first cat of the four we currently have got her shots, she was tired for a couple of days. The vet reminded me then that she also went through a pretty rough ordeal - riding in the car - dealing with people touching her and putting thermometer up her butt - smells - shots - and yet another car ride. That wears them out, too.

I'd call the vet. They might have an answering service and the vet might get back to you tonight if it seems urgent.
I own a little pet store. I am very reluctant to give medical advice, because I'm not a vet, not even a vet tech. People always come in to ask questions like this. I can guess. That's about it. It's best to get info from a good source, your vet.

Its normal. Every cat has a different reaction to the medication. If your kitten is still acting very lethargic in a couple of days, you should talk with your vet, but I think she's just fine.

Lethargy is normal for puppies and kittens after vaccines.
After she wakes up if she doesn't want to eat, is still lethargic, vomiting, or has a swollen face or eyelids. That could be an allergic reaction and needs to see a vet.
Otherwise she should feel better later.

its been a tough day for little fluffy; a car ride, manhandled by a strange vet and stuck full of needles and stuff, no wonder whe is all worn out. Just wait till you want to sleep in tomorrow, and she will be sure to be climbing all over your face trying to get food and go outside to play.

she will be fine, my cat sleeps almost all day, and the medicine probably made her more tired, back to the reason she is sleeping now, when cats live in the wild, they need to catch food witch requires energy, so when they eat, if there is nothing important for them to do they will sleep to conserve energy until they need to do something, also make sure she has plenty of water, as she may be sleeping waiting for water, espicially if she hasnt used the litter box all day

From what i have sceen with cats this is normal. Most cats are beat to hell after vaccinations but if it really bothers you check with your vet. I wouldn't worrie too much about it kittens tend to bounce back.

She should be FINE! If she was having an allergic reaction her face would Swelled up like a puffer fish! There's probably just a little drowsy medication in it!

Ma'am I'm a cat expert. Your cat is alright cat's usualy sleep alot. If she didn't before it that's because small kittens love to play. If you see her in bed again the next day wake her up if she hisses or scratches carry her to your car and bring her to the vet ( or him)
