It isn't the tomato itself that helps your eyes, it's the cold. The tomato is more pliable as it thaws so it's a good thing to use. You need to freeze the slices and put them under your eyes, but other veggies are fine to. I told somebody on the boards this, but I forgot who it was, I use spoons. You can use the curved part over your eye and hold it by the handle. The cold helps shrink the blood vessels and that's part of why you see the color difference. For me it's hereditary too, but the spoons help.

Yes! This was on the news this morning! You need to slice the tomatoe and freeze the slice for about 30 minutes in the freezer then put half under one eye then the other half under the other eye.

I've never heard of it, though I have seen tomato toners (Burt's Bees makes one.)

Personally, I'd NEVER put tomatoes on my face because I'm allergic to raw ones and they make me break out in a hot pink rash. Disgusting.

I'd say, skip it. Get some Preparation H (they have a gel kind as well as cream) to shrink up the little blood vessels that pool with blood and make your skin look dark.
