Well it may be non-alcoholic beer but it still tastes like beer and it might just give him that "I want a REAL beer" feeling!

It's perfectly "safe" to drink O'Doul's (or any other non-alcoholic beer or wine), and if your husband wants to drink it, that's his choice. It's what may (and I said "may") follow that can cause a problem.
People don't drink alcoholic beverages for the taste. They drink them for the effect. Do you know anyone who thinks a martini tastes as good as a Coke? There are a lot of "sweet" drinks that taste great. So why do people put rum in their Cokes? Why do they drink gin and tonic? Why do they drink beer?
Having one martini is, by itself, every bit as safe as drinking O'Doul's, and even many doctors say a drink or a glass of wine every night is actually good for you. It's the second, third and fourth martinis that create problems.
O'Doul's is a product of Anheuser-Busch, the company that brews Budweiser beer (among other brands). Is that a coincidence or is something else going on with A-B? I don't think Gerber's makes near-beer to go with its baby foods....
Now, some advice: Don't tell a smoker not to smoke, an alcoholic not to drink, or a husband not to cheat on his wife. Lectures, however well-intended, may be great in the classroom, but they often have the reverse effect in the real world. If someone is going to be constantly accused of something, he might as well be guilty.

My brother did that when he quit drinking. He missed the taste of beer so he bought the non-alcoholic stuff. Eventually, he quit drinking that too. I guess it depends on the person - it it's going to be a trigger to start drinking again or not. Everyone is different. I just know that it worked o.k. for my bro.

i am a survivor of end stage liver cancer, i recieved a liver transplant last halloween.
i had liver cancer, and i was a rough and tumble truck driver, construction worker, and biker.
to get put on the transplant list i had to go through six months of verified aa meetings and phsyciatrc, and years worth of painful medical exams.
i was fading away rapidly from 210 pds. of solid dude to a130pd. skeleten. i was also required to get random blood and alchohl test.
i explained that i only drink non alchohol beer and showed them an article from a mens fitness magazine that stated that non alcohol beer was actually good for you, and even though i wuold drink sometimes a sixpack or more right before the blood test it never showed up in the test result. an these test checked for everythig.{hard core test}
my doctors and nurses who still keep a sharp eye on me after the transplant agreed that non alkhohol beer is not doing
me any harm and they allow it, plus it keeps my kidneys flushed wich totaly failed on me before the transplant.
i worked hard ,i played hard , but the cancer was the same my mom had. she got a transplant 5 years ago and never drank or did drugs in her life, so go figure, just because i drank i would not have been put on the tranplant list unless i went to aa and all the test, but dont let any dudley doright tell you you its wrong to drink non alkohol beer!, i learned the hard way!!!

Even though your husband is an alcoholic , I would never advise him or anyone else drink any type of "non-alcoholic beer" just stick to water and fruit juices. Please Read the labels of "non-alcoholic beer carefully". We certainly don't need anyone jumping off the wagon so to speak.

No, like some people have already said, O'Douls actually has a little bit of acohol in it. If he's an alcoholic, it's just better to avoid any alcohol. Soda or juice should work just fine.

yes and no. it is safe but at the same time, it will be similar to regular beer and having non-alcoholic beer may lead to alcoholic beer. I would just stay away from it.

It still contains a slight amount of alcohol. I would suggest to stay clear of it...but I think the people who can answer this question best are the once who been there done that. Try contacting AA or Al-Non for some advice.
