What do the "Doctors" of the RC Church do?

They have relayed important spiritual information through writings or such. Just about every Dr. of the Church has (incidentally) been a devotee to the Child Jesus and I think that is very telling. The Child Jesus isn't discussed that much in Scripture and so it is like the Church on Earth is the Child Jesus almost. All the Drs. of the Church have been Saints and my favorite one is St. Therese' "The Little Flower" and her little way.
