If you are talking about legal immigration, I have no problem with that. As far as illegal immigration, I didlike it because I am a union construction worker, and they are coming in taking construction jobs, for 1/3 of my hourly rate. They work overtime for straight pay, often working 6-7 days a week. They have no taxes taken out of their pay. In the past 2 years, I have not gotten the 1000 hours worked in order to get my medical benefits. Think about that, 1000 hours is basically 40 hours a week for 26 weeks or half a year. That is why I didlike illegal immigrants.

I have always been strongly pro-immigration.
But, I oppose completely unregulated or illegal immigration. Yes, my Libertarian credintials aren't perfect.
Immigration is good for many countries, particularly highly developed, post-industrial countries with low fertility, like the USA. It can minimize the problems of an 'aging' population - like lack of entry-level workers, rising healthcare costs, and other economic and social issues that come from such an imbalance. But, it only works if the immigrants assimilate to some extent.
Unfettered immigration without assimilation, however, is bad for any country - it can be rightly characterized colonization or even invasion. Instead of a re-invigorating their adopted country, such immigrants divide or even destroy it.
As you can see, race isn't even part of the issue. Though, of course, culture can be - the greater the cultural differences, the harder assimilation is for the immigrant, and the greater the consequences of non-assimilation is to the society.

We or our descendants are all Immigrants we just did it the Legal way, learned English and became Loyal to the United States of America
My Italian great grandparents came here but they would only talk Italian at home , they learned english because they were RESPECTFUL of this country and the people.
If you break the law you are criminals. Illegal Immigrants are breaking the law.
You should put your energy and effort into making your homeland of Mexico or whatever country you decided to leave
fair and productive to all it's citizens.
You should be proud of your own country
Throwing the racist card around is played when there is no defense of facts that can be made.

I do think that America has to recognize that the days of "Give us your tired, poor hungry masses" is over and no longer applies. Many countries are suffering because of illegal immigration (stress is in ILLEGAL).It damages the economy in so many ways and creates a vicious cycle of class abuse against the illegal immigrant population, as well as warping the economy by creating an infrastructure based on below income non-insured jobs that would normally go to legal citizens at a legal wage, increasing the gap between the wealthy and the poor..

I don't dislike immigration at all. I'm all for immigrations. I'm not for giving amnesty to 13 million illegals aliens who sneak into my country and are sucking my social services, schools, hospitals, and justice services dry to the tune of 80 billion a year. Oh and lets not forget all the identity theft.

As usual it's the hate immigration thing..may as well call everyone racist..it's the ILLEGAL part that seems to get white washed.
We have a system to make sure criminals and certain diseases are not let into the country or handled.

racism has nothing to do with this. I dislike ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION because it goes against the principles of the usa. I have no problem if people come here legally, work hard, pay taxes, dont commit crimes, dont want to mooch of the social programs. But the ILLEGALS.. just come here to work, don't pay taxes, want to have benefits of citizens, commit crimes, fill up our jails/prisons, and overcrowd our schools. I dislike the illegal immigration because it goes against what usa citizens do. Why should people be rewarded for being here illegally?? if a usa citizen breaks a law, they are punished for it!! This is how i feel! and i think a majority of the usa people think the same

I like legal immigration. I dislike ILLEGAL immigration because it indicates we Americans are no longer sovereign in our own country. Anyone, terrorists included, can now waltz into the country anytime they want.
It's disgusting.

Legal immigration built this country but permitting illegals to stay here will destroy it. The special interest people keep feeding the green to the political pigs at the trough and the average American is ignored.

the person above is right, immigration is fine, ILLEGAL immigration is the problem
think of illegal immigration like this
some stranger moves into your house without your consent and lives there without paying any form of expenses
on the other hand that stranger takes advantage of residing in your home to earn money of his own (he doesnt pay income tax either)
now tell me would you like that?
